Another busy week behind us!
I have been projecting around the house this week. Purchased and painted/stained some old furniture , built a headboard for us, and of course got the fall decorations going around the house :)
The beagles continue to shock us! After letting them outside for 30ish minutes I realized I hadn't heard them. Turns out they dug their way under our fence to our neighbors backyard so Lola could play with her boyfriend patches. THEY are crazzzyyy! Good thing we are friends with our neighbors otherwise that would be awkward. Escaping beagles at it again...
This week was the week that we were waiting for news from the doctor on the genetic disorder test. They said that no news was good news so the absence of a call be Wednesday was very relieving :) looks like Kane is healthy as can be, but we will find out more at my appointment next week. Thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers! The power of prayer is amazing .
Steve is about to finish up BWS next week which means we will find out when he begins apache school and hopefully come close to a graduation date woo hoo! Tuesday is his big checkride so keep him in your thoughts :)
Today was possibly the most beautiful day of the year so far here in Alabama ! I started my morning to a brisk 10 mile run in 37 degree weather ... Man was that cold! After relaxing all morning we spent the day at a local pumpkin farm. You never know what to expect around here when it comes to.. Well anything really ... But the aplin farm was really really neat! We went with a bunch of other families that we are friends with and all of the kids had a blast, adults too of course :) there were really clean petting zoo animals , fresh local produce from their farm, rides, and a fun hayride that takes you to the pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkins . Not only are there tons of pumpkins but it is a MASsIVE sunflower field as well. We all spent quite some time just playing in the fields, taking some pictures of course , and picking flowers and pumpkins. The perfect weather made it just that much better too. Before leaving we purchased some of their local honey, tomatoes, and cucumbers ... Yum! It was really a fun day with some great friends :) followed by large amounts of food at five guys and frozen yogurt . The best part of the day was spending time with Steven and seeing him taking in all of the animals and fun new things at the farm. Seeing him develop into such a neat little human amazes us every day! Tonight he learned a new trick, if we say "touchdown!!!" he raises his arms up for the TD :) it's hilarious.
We have a lot of videos to upload to so hopefully tomorrow I can get around to it along with some great pics from today.
I hope all is well with everyone , we miss you all as always. Would love some visitors anytime this fall/ winter ;) pictures and videos to come tomorrow! Have a great rest of the weeked

PCB and buddywalk
What a busy start to a 4 day weekend! Looks like we'll be relaxing and watching football for the rest of it... Typical :)
Yesterday afternoon we headed down to panama city beach Florida to escape the gates of fort Rucker for a little bit. We really don't take advantage of having the beach 80 miles away enough.
Steven got to crawl( yes crawl still no walking...) all over the "giant sandbox" which is always funny to watch. We ate dinner at buffalo wild wings, another average meal that is a serious luxury when you live in the middle of nowhere! Yum .
There was a pirate festival all weekend with added activities and events for kids and families at the PCB pier park. We took Steven on the ferris wheel for the first time which was HILARIOUS. He sat in the seat between the two of us and we literally couldn't stop laughing at him. His eyes were huge the whole time just taking it all in. We took a video, I will upload it below later. Before leaving I had a craving for snow cones, so of course being the wonderful husband that he is, steve ventured around with me to find some... Definitely well worth it! So after chocolate milk with dinner and way too many spoonfuls of Mom and Dads snow cones, I can't believe he even fell asleep in the car ride home :)
This morning I woke up early as usual on saturdays for a nice 8 mile sunrise run ( aka my happy pill.) After breakfast We went down to Dothan for the 4th annual wiregrass buddywalk. The buddywalk is a national event that is put on to bring knowledge and awareness about down syndrome. The fact that this event fell in the middle of our waiting period for out genetic testing was quite ironic , but it was a really great event to go out and show support . There were tons of kids and adults of all ages with DS that were extremely inspiring . What beautiful and wonderful people to spend the morning surrounded by! The walk was around the nature trail at landmark park which was cool and beautiful on a rather warm fall day.
Steve just bought transformers3 on blue ray so it looks like this and Alabama football will be consuming the rest of the day;)
I hope you all are enjoying the Columbus day weekend as well . No better time to enjoy the outdoors than the fall ! Miss and love you all very much. Wishing we had our family/friends here as always . A very Happy Saturday :)

Hello October , we missed you.
As if mother nature was right on cue with Saturday being October , the weather turned absolutely BEAUTIFUL over night Friday .
Saturday morning I had my first race with baby Kane in tow. It was a race for Hispanic heritage on post here at Rucker and was 4.2 miles from one gate to the other. It was a great morning , nice cool breeze , and a great finish at 36 minutes that I am quite proud of. And people say pregnant chicks can't run ;)
The rest of the weekend was filled with football football and more football as always . Our neighbors being die hard Alabama fans , both alum, it's always a good time watching games with them. Not to mention Steven loves hanging out there, I'm concerned that he really is going to end up an Alabama fan ... Scary thought :/ Today while watching the patriots I was able to witness such a neat moment that's worth sharing . Steven climbed over to his toys and dug through just to pick out his football and brought it over to Dad . He really is becoming such a thoughtful intelligent child it is amazing . Him and Dad tossed the little football back and forth, first time playing catch :) so fun!
Steven is in this stage where he talks all day long but it sounds completely foreign. All of or friends agree that it sounds like fluent Chinese ! We keep teasing him that he is secretly a Chinese baby . I wish everyone could witness it, his "Chinese talk" is absolutely hilarious. So funny that HE even cracks up at it! I'll post a video below of him playing in his car this morning.
A nice 4 day week is ahead of us, followed by a beautiful 4 day weekend YAY! We are thinking of going to the beach one day, maybe go visit Eufala Alabama , and possibly participate in the buddywalk in Dothan Saturday morning. If it was fall in Alabama all year , I don't think you could ever drag me away from this place . There is nothing better than this... Which MEANS if you haven't visited us now is the time! Have a great week everyone .

BOYS and beagles...
It looks like our house will forever be filled with boys and beagles... and I would not have it any other way! As fun as it would be to decorate a purple room, have an excuse to buy EVERYTHING hello kitty, and get to have my own little cheerleader, the thought of actually RAISING a daughter scares the crap out of me. People have always told me that I am just a "boy mom" so I guess it's time to just accept it :) YAY!! So happy to call him our son.
We had picked out names before we had Steven. When it comes to big decisions Steve and I are both pretty decisive... it's just stuff like what should we do for dinner that spins us in circles for hours. If we had a daughter we were going to name her Victoria Mae. Victoria is my middle name which we both love and Mae is a band that we spent listening to when we first started dating , going to their show on one of our first dates. BUT Maybe we will have to save that for our next beagle after these two kick the bucket ... sad... ANYWAYS Our boy name had been well planned also.
Kane is Steve's Mom Fran's maiden name. Their family is very important to us and her mother Sally is one of those family members that we hold very close ( and sally for a boy just might get a few jokes.) We always thought Kane would be a very strong name that would fit our son perfectly. My maternal Grandfather," Papa" James Olson, might as well be my second ( or 3rd?) Dad. He has played a huge role in my life and he means more to both Steve and I than anyone in this world. Many people see the similarities between him and Steve which is truly an honor . Being a retired Air Force Colonel and pilot, Vietnam vet, Quick witted, A head taller than most, ginormous heart, and having a certain presence about him simply demands honor and respect are all traits that we could only hope and pray to carry on to our children. With a name like Kane James Trumbull he can be nothing less than perfection!
As we sat in the Dr. Johnston's office elated at the news from the ultra sound, she brought us some more news that was a bit more surprising. On the ultrasound they detected a small white spot, a calcification , on his heart. It was literally 1 millimeter, miniature. The spot itself will remain in his heart but will never cause any problems, not require any surgery, or change anything about him in any way. However, an Echogenic intracardiac focus ( technical terms) is a soft marker for down syndrome. This is one of the smaller markers but it does raise some concern. I chose not to be tested earlier for genetic disorders because to me it really didn't matter. She recommended that I go ahead and do the blood testing for genetic disorders just to have another bases to look off of before taking anymore tests. So we did, they sent it off to Birmingham and results should be here within 2-3 weeks. No news is good news but if something positive does come back they will inform us ASAP.
Obviously the initial reaction was shock, followed by many many tears on my part. Tears of the unknown , tears of how much our life could change forever in a few months. We like to think that we are immune to everything and that nothing could go wrong when we are young and healthy right? More than anything else this is opening my eyes to the fact that ANYTHING can happen to any of us and it is completely out of our control. Either way we will have a healthy beautiful boy that we will love unconditionally, there is just a possibility of ONE extra chromosome :) As pretty much everyone has said to us, if anyone can handle this it would be us. We are completely capable and ready for anything at this point. God only gives us what we can handle.

The blood test will give us some more specific odds , we just have to wait a couple weeks to find out. Until then keep us in your happy thoughts and prayers. Goodbye instruments !
Today was Steve's final checkride for instruments ... And he passed woo hoo! We are so thrilled for him, most of the annoying portions of flight school are behind him as he is off to basic warfighter school Thursday for the next 4 weeks. After that is... Duh duhduh... Advanced aircraft Aka Apache school! Maybe I can get him to post a little of what is going on from his perspective . The best part about BWS is that they are finally flying in military aircraft as opposed to the generic th67 ( jet ranger.) As he puts it, it's " flying over tree tops without doors " you get the picture . Actually learning to fly army style as opposed to simply flying high altitude and long distances .Steven and I are so proud and happy for him this was a huge accomplishment today .
Tomorrow is another big day, we find out the sex of baby #2 so stay tuned for hopefully more good news ( by that I mean a little girl Trumbull .)

The Enterprise aviation expo/ air show
Steven is definitely his fathers son , he was infatuated with all of the aircraft at the expo today. There were tons of Vietnam and WWII era fighter plans that were restored and running like brand new. They put on a great air show with the planes which was really neat to see. I can't imagine what it would be like to see those planes all in their prime actually fighting over seas , they are still just as amazing . Of course they had plenty of rotary as well including a Huey that the airforce still flys. Steven loved it! He sat in the cockpit with me and wanted to touch every button and pull on the cyclic. Maybe we will have two pilots in the family :) Here are some pics from the day...
